Jan 26, 2003· BTW, in rebuilding this 1967 HLV-H here in my shop over the last couple of years, I didn''t find the majority of the parts that expensive - especially compared with South Bend. Besides the spindle bearings, there were a couple of pieces which were in the hundred dollar range, but they were precision gears and the like.

Note that on earlier models of the HLV-H, you must also remove the reverse tuler gear to get the belt entirely out of the machine. The manual will show you the short procedure for that. 11.
